News Year 9 Holocaust Education Workshop 09.03.2023

On Monday afternoon Year 9 History students attended a workshop on the history of the Holocaust. 

The session was led by Nicola, Hannah, Anoushka and Charlie of the Parkes Institute, the University of Southampton’s centre for the study of Jewish/non-Jewish relations across the ages. Each of our guests presented as part of the workshop, drawing on their own research and personal family histories to offer an overview of the devastating impact of the Holocaust and its aftermath.

We were really proud of how maturely our Year 9 students handled such a moving and difficult topic. The workshop was really expertly and sensitively delivered and provided students with a really good foundation for their learning on this challenging area of history. Thank you to the Parkes Institute’s incredible outreach team for the thought-provoking session.
