News Spring Choral Concert 2024 08.03.2024

Last night’s Spring Choral Concert brought together over 200 pupils, staff and Godolphin parents to create a memorable evening of music in the Bishop Centre.

The first half of the concert featured all of our individual choirs and vocal ensembles — Year 7 Choir, Year 8 and 9 Choir, Junior Chamber Choir, The Octaves, Senior Choir & Senior Chamber Choir — before coming together for a bombastic, declamatory performance of Handel’s Zadok The Priest and a beautifully moving performance of Matthew Coleridge’s Requiem (featuring a thirty-strong student orchestra). We were very fortunate that Matthew Coleridge himself was able to join us for the performance, and he spoke incredibly warmly about the musicality of our wonderful students.

Thanks to Mr Langworthy, Miss Edwards and Mrs Garcia, as well as our superb team of peripatetic music teachers, for preparing our singers so ably (and with such commitment and good humour!), and to all the musicians involved in what was truly fantastic concert.
