News Schools’ Head of the River 2025 27.03.2025
On Wednesday, Godolphin and Latymer made history at the Schools’ Head of the River Race by fielding six eights for the first time ever. The club delivered a strong set of performances, setting an exciting tone for the upcoming regatta season.
The J16 VIII led the charge with a thrilling victory, securing gold in their event by just two seconds. Meanwhile, the J16 B VIII showcased their strength, earning a well-deserved third place in their category.
For the J15 squads, the A crew competed in their first-ever Schools’ Head and achieved an impressive 11th-place finish. The J15 B crew also put in a solid performance, finishing 8th in their category, demonstrating the depth and promise of the younger athletes in the squad.
In the championship category, last year’s 1st VIII champions proved their speed, finishing considerably faster than many other first eights and placing a commendable 6th. The 2nd VIII also displayed their potential, securing 6th place in their category with a strong and determined row.
