News Politics Society: Dr Lauren Bell 29.02.2024

This week’s Politics Society guest speaker was Dr Lauren Bell, Professor of Political Science at Randolph-Macon College, Virginia.

Working relatively close to the Capitol, the Professor has had to opportunity to spend some time working in two of the nation’s most important institutions as well as studying them from her time at university. She took a large audience of students, including many from the Middle School, through her first-hand experience of working in Congress for a year and working in the Supreme Court for a year. She was able to offer some observations of how her personal impressions of the organisations were quite different to the impression that comes academic studies alone. Our students audience asked some very thought-provoking questions and the session was very rewarding.
