Settling in at Year 7
A smooth transition

Every year, girls join Godolphin and Latymer from many different feeder schools and we aim to help them make new friends and settle in as quickly as possible; helping girls feel at home is our priority.

The pastoral team – comprising of the Deputy Heads, Head of Lower School, Head of Year 7 and Co-tutors for each form – oversees the transition for each girl. We take a collaborative approach supported by proactive communication between the school, parents and carers. Parents will receive a handbook which includes everything they need to know to support their daughter in the first few weeks.

Pupils’ progress is tracked through a range of academic and pastoral information such as ‘Myself as a Learner’ which is highly effective in supporting pupils’ well-being and their academic progress.
