News Old Dolphins challenge students with real-world industry problems 10.10.2024
On Tuesday, four Old Dolphins joined us to articulate their varied career journeys since school with students in Years 10 and above. They each then posed an industry problem to small groups of students for them to work through and pitch.
With Zoe Stein (Class of 2012), students considered ‘into which country should Deliveroo launch next?’, thinking about what plan/strategy would be successful and what factors might be important related to the financial impact and existing competitors within that country.
Serena Hood’s (Class of 2001) group looked at how her online shopping platform curating the world of fashion, interiors and beauty, Collagerie, could expand from its online presence to also operating in the physical world.
Medic Alex Pasint-Magyar (Class of 2009) tasked her group with tackling the problem of overcrowding within A&E departments; looking at how we could address the issues of lack of space and making sure patients are seen safely (and appropriately).
Meanwhile, Callie Davidson (Class of 2015) had her group work on the challenge of delivering the prison leavers resettlement programme of her charity, Fine Cell Work, via a remote platform.
Our students came up with fantastic ideas and demonstrated creativity, critical thinking, and a true passion for solving real-world challenges. Many thanks to Alex, Callie, Serena and Zoe for their time and enthusiasm.
