News Lunchtime talk from the University of Chicago 13.09.2024
On Wednesday, our Sixth Form students enjoyed the opportunity to attend a lively lunchtime talk by the Dean of College Admissions at the University of Chicago, Mr. Peter Wilson.
Dean Wilson talked about the diversity of opinions which enrich the classroom discussions, particularly in the university’s distinctive Core curriculum, as well as the vibrant community of students who are equally driven and compassionate. Other topics of discussion included the undergraduate research and Metcalf internship opportunities, as well as the volunteering programmes on and beyond campus. The students also got to hear about the details of the admission process, and more specifically about the advantages of applying early and the role of the two-minute video students get to submit to add their voice to their application.
We will continue to host talks by Admission Directors to keep our students informed about the wide range of opportunities offered at US universities, with representatives from Boston University, Dartmouth, Duke, Georgetown, Northwestern, Tufts, University of Virginia, and Vanderbilt visiting us in the coming weeks.
