News Lower Sixth Spanish Students Explore Legacy of Dictatorship at BFI Study Day 13.03.2025
On Thursday, Lower Sixth A Level Spanish students attended a study day at the British Film Institute, delving into the legacy of dictatorship in contemporary Spanish cinema.
The event featured a documentary examining the dictatorships of Francisco Franco in Spain and Augusto Pinochet in Chile, as well as their lasting impact on both nations. Following the screening, students participated in a thought-provoking lecture and a live Q&A session with two subject experts joining from Madrid.
The day provided a valuable opportunity to deepen students’ understanding of the historical and cultural repercussions of dictatorship in Spain and Chile. A special well done to Isabel for bravely stepping onto the stage to ask a question during the discussion!
