News ‘La Casa de Bernarda Alba’ Screening 11.12.2020
On Wednesday Lower Sixth Spanish students had the opportunity to watch in school a live-streamed performance of La Casa de Bernarda Alba by the Cervantes Theatre in London.
The Cervantes Theatre is a small theatre established in 2016 under the railway arches in Southwark specialising in Spanish language theatre and it has become a staple venue for schools studying the works of Lorca. Like all theatres, the Cervantes Theatre has had to adapt to the current restrictions and we were delighted to support their first live-streaming of what is a very popular set text at both A Level and IB. We joined over 400 students remotely to see the performance which was followed by a live Q&A with the director, Jorge de Juan.
The girls thoroughly enjoyed the play and gained a great deal of knowledge and understanding for their final examinations.
