News Junior Chamber Choir Sing Evensong at The Charterhouse 14.11.2024

The Junior Chamber Choir recently had the privilege of visiting The Charterhouse, where they sang evensong in the chapel after a fascinating tour of the historic site. The students were captivated by the rich heritage of The Charterhouse, and this insight deepened their appreciation for the special setting in which they performed.

For evensong, the choir sang a thoughtfully chosen repertoire that included Malcolm Archer’s Preces and Responses, Sumsion in G (upper voices) for the Magnificat and Nunc Dimittis, Psalm 23, and Will Todd’s ‘The Call of Wisdom’.

Several members of the congregation expressed their gratitude for the opportunity to experience such accomplished singing in a sacred space. For the students, it was an invaluable chance to perform within an inspiring historical setting, and a rewarding experience to connect with the tradition of choral evensong.
