News Old Dolphin champions the DofE Award on Russian TV 20.04.2021
Over the last week many of us have been reflecting on the life of HRH The Duke of Edinburgh and celebrating his legacy which includes generations of Godolphin students who have had the opportunity to take on the life changing challenge of a DofE Award. The scheme helps to empower young people across the world with the skills, confidence and resilience to make the most of life and make a difference to the world around them. As part of the worldwide commemorations, Old Dolphin Raphaela Svirinskaya, (Class of 2020) was featured on prime time news programme Вести on Russian main state TV channel Россия talking about her experience of completing her Bronze, Silver and Gold DofE in a special news segment dedicated to The Duke’s legacy. Most likely, it was the first time that many Russian people had heard about DofE and certainly it was the first time that the state news channel reported on it!
It is also very apt that this coming weekend we will be re-starting our programme of Duke of Edinburgh expeditions that had to be paused due to the pandemic. Our Bronze and Silver award students will be off to the Chilterns with the Silver award participants tackling their final expedition in the Purbeck Hills. Good luck to them all and to the staff who are accompanying them.
