News Holland Netball and Hockey Tour 2019 08.11.2019

During half-term, 56 Godolphin girls travelled to Valkenburg in the Netherlands for a week of coaching and competitions in hockey and netball.

The netball players were fortunate enough to have coaching from Scotland’s former national captain Hayley Mulheron, as well as Scottish and Northern Irish national teams’ coaches, as they trained hard on their fitness through spin classes and experienced some video performance analysis. Our U13 and U14 teams won their respective tournaments, bringing home a collection of trophies.

The hockey players had a similarly rewarding experience by taking in professional instruction by Dutch coaches as well as receiving expert intensive goalkeeper training. The girls took a 4-3 victory against Dutch club HC Blerick and won the final day tournament against the other English schools. The girls thoroughly enjoyed the sport as well as extra activities including tobogganing, a trip to the pancake house and an afternoon exploring Brussels.
