News Hans Woyda Maths Competition at City of London School 25.09.2024

On Monday, Godolphin students in Years 9-Upper Sixth took part in the first round of the Hans Woyda Maths competition at City of London School for Girls.

The team – consisting of Chloe in Year 9, Helene in Year 11, Alex in the Lower Sixth, and Victoria in the Upper Sixth – worked very quickly to solve a series of challenging problems, where the questions were comprised from the very first round of the prestigious Hans Woyda competitions, written in 1979-80.

The speed of providing solutions have improved significantly from our students however some incorrect answers on the Team Round gave us some negative scores, despite that we managed to narrow the gap on the later calculator andaAlgebra rounds. At that point, we ran out of time to catch up on the scores. Nonetheless, we were thrilled to have scored over 30 points which was above our average from previous years. Well done, everyone!
