News Godolphin debaters shine in Oxford Union Debating Competition 01.02.2024

On Wednesday evening four teams from Godolphin competed in the prestigious Oxford Union debating competition.

This was a huge round with 60 teams competing. It was made more complex by being online, so occasional technical glitches meant it was harder to read your opposition or hear some speakers. Nevertheless, our students triumphed and two teams, made up of Year 11s Frida and Gwendolyn, and Year 11 Sophie and Lower Sixth student Franny, have made it through to Finals Day at the Union itself. No other schools in the round had two teams going through so it was really a fantastic achievement for our debaters.

We very much look forward to seeing what our students do in March for Finals Day.
