News Lower School Linguists in National Finals 13.06.2024
Congratulations to our linguists who have done fantastically well in recent national competitions.
For the first time in eight years, all five students who entered the Translation Bee competition are through to the national finals which will be held at Cambridge University at the end of June.
Translation Bee is a competition for students in Years 8 and 9 and they compete in the areas of vocabulary, spelling and memory skills in a foreign language (French, German or Spanish). The competition began all the way back in September, with the first stage held during Languages Week. Congratulations to Imi and Victoria (Year 9 Spanish); Amaya (Year 8 French); Rachel (Year 9 German); and Lara (Year 8 German). Good luck to all of them at the national finals.
Also, many congratulations to Chloe in Year 8 who has been awarded runner up in the Oxford University 2024 Spanish Flash Fiction Competition.
