News Dr Peter Jones returns to Ancient World Breakfast Club 25.03.2022

On Friday morning our Ancient World Breakfast Club was delighted to welcome back Dr Peter Jones to talk on ‘Death in the Roman World’.

Dr Jones was the Club’s very first external speaker back in the Autumn of 2005, in its previous incarnation as the Greek Breakfast Club. Esteemed lecturer, writer, journalist and broadcaster, Dr Jones is a regular columnist for The Spectator and recent articles have included ‘Does Putin pass Aristotle’s tyrant test?’ and ‘Could Cicero help MPs who can’t govern?’. Today his lecture was peppered with classical examples read by Upper Sixth students Aoife and Morwenna and his lecture prompted a range of probing questions from members of his audience, both young and not so young!
