News Cultural Celebration Assembly: Eid al-Fitr 28.03.2025

Middle School students had the opportunity to deepen their understanding of Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr, thanks to an engaging presentation by Samar (Year 11) and Rihanna (Year 10).

The presentation provided valuable context about Islam, including an overview of the global Muslim population by country and an explanation of the Five Pillars of Islam, which serve as the foundation of the faith.

Samar and Rihanna spoke in detail about the practice of fasting during Ramadan, highlighting its spiritual significance as a deeply personal opportunity for reflection and connection to one’s faith and culture. They explained how fasting fosters discipline, gratitude, and empathy for those less fortunate.

The students also explored the celebrations of Eid al-Fitr, the festival marking the end of Ramadan. They shared insights into the various ways Muslims around the world observe this occasion, from prayers and communal gatherings to the traditional dishes enjoyed in different cultures.

In addition to discussing Eid al-Fitr, Samar and Rihanna also introduced Eid al-Adha, Islam’s other major festival. They explained its connection to the Hajj pilgrimage to Mecca and its significance in commemorating the willingness to make sacrifices for faith and community.

The presentation was an enriching experience for our Middle School students, offering a meaningful glimpse into the traditions and values that shape the Islamic faith.
