News Christmas Friday Festivities 13.12.2021
While last Christmas felt rather like Narnia under Queen Jadis (‘always winter and never Christmas’), this year Godolphin and Latymer was transformed into a winter wonderland for the end of term ‘Festive Friday’.
House teams went head to head in the Christmas Karaoke staged in the Bishop Centre and featuring all of our favourite Christmas tunes, while in the Sports Hall students bounced and crawled through the Christmas-themed giant inflatable assault course. Those that wanted to get creative headed to the dining hall for gingerbread and bauble decorating and Scandinavian crafts; queues formed outside the drama studio recreated as our Santa’s Grotto Photobooth; and for those that needed a break, the school hall had a makeover to be re-imagined as our Christmas Chill-out zone with a film screening of ‘Elf’. The aroma of popcorn, cakes, hot chocolate and spiced apple juice tempted visitors to the inner courtyard where pupils were entertained at ‘buskers’ corner’ by student musicians and to add (furry) Christmas magic to the proceedings there was a visit from two reindeer on the astro, much to the delight of everyone.
It really was a fantastic end to the term that brought the whole community together for well-deserved fun and celebration. Everyone was very grateful to all of the staff and parents who organised the day, with particular thanks to: Mrs Anna Kirkman, Secretary of the PTFA, Mrs Michelle Price, Treasurer, and to the organising Committee – Mrs Goldin, Mrs Rennie, Mrs Middlemass, Mrs Freudenheim, Mrs Richards, Mrs Kodmani, Mrs Westin, Mrs Killmer and Mrs Aguilar – and to all of the parents who worked so hard to ensure that the girls had a wonderfully festive afternoon.
