News Boat Crews on Course at Poplar Regatta 19.05.2023

On Sunday 14 May the Boat Club travelled to the Poplar Regatta, at the Royal Albert Docks in East London where they were blessed with some beautiful weather and side by side racing. It was very well attended by a host of London schools including St Paul’s Girls, St Paul’s School, Kings College, Latymer Upper, Dulwich College, Hampton School and Kingston Grammar, as well as schools from further afield, local rowing clubs and university crews.

The J15 VIII had an outstanding competition, winning their heat, and then the final, against top competition. The top four results were an all Hammersmith affair with some fantastic friendly rivalry with our friends at St Paul’s Girls School. The J16s raced in the Women’s Coxed Four, against adult competition, and came away with a great third place in the final. Our sixth form rowers raced in a variety of boats, the Women’s Coxless Pair, Women’s J18 double, and Women’s J18 coxed four. The Pair and Double both finished third in their finals, which were fine results. The four had a fantastic race, and won their event!

The National Schools’ Regatta is now just a week away, and we wish all of our rowers and coaches the best of luck in their final preparations.
