News A Slice of Innovation: Year 8’s protein-packed desserts 27.02.2025
All this week, students and staff have been flocking to the Cloisters Room at breaktime to sample some of the sliced desserts that Year 8 have been developing in their Food and Nutrition lessons.
This is part of the G&L Futures Live Projects programme where students have been tasked with creating innovative high-protein desserts by the school’s caterers, Chartwells. Desserts have ranged from matcha tiramisu to apple crumble ‘Pro-oat-ein’ slices, with product sales helping students to judge consumer acceptability and gain information to further development.
We look forward to seeing and sampling some more of their delicious creations in the coming weeks!
