News Strong Performances at British Schools’ Team Fencing Championships 13.03.2025
This past weekend, our fencers delivered impressive performances at the British Schools’ Team Championships, with both épée and foil teams showing skill, determination, and resilience.
On Saturday, we fielded three épée teams across different age groups. The U13 team put in a strong performance, securing victories over Millfield and St Benedict’s. The U15 team faced a tough pool but celebrated a solid win against King’s School Canterbury B team, narrowly missing out on victory against Millfield by just two points.
The U18 team also triumphed over King’s School Canterbury B team but fell short against Millfield, King’s A team, and Lycée Français. Despite these challenges, the day provided valuable experience ahead of the upcoming Public Schools’ Fencing Championships (PSFC) on Wednesday 19 March for épée and Tuesday 18 March for foil.
Sunday saw even greater success, with our four foil teams bringing home an impressive haul of four medals. The U15B team fought hard to secure bronze, while the U15A team claimed silver. The U18 team also finished with a well-earned bronze. In a dramatic U13 final, our fencers narrowly lost 45-44 to City of London Girls, earning a well-deserved silver medal.
It was a fantastic weekend of fencing, with all teams demonstrating excellent teamwork and competitive spirit. Well done to all our fencers!
