News Cultural Celebration Assembly: Diwali 08.11.2024
This week, the school hosted a special assembly to celebrate Diwali, the festival of lights.
Led by Year 10 students Anshika and Ameya, the assembly offered their classmates a chance to learn more about the cultural and spiritual significance of Diwali. Focusing on the different days of the festival, they spoke about Govardhan Puja, a day dedicated to honouring Lord Krishna and expressing gratitude for nature. They shared how they celebrate this day with family, through decorating their homes, preparing special meals, and offering prayers.
The assembly concluded with a Q&A on the best Diwali treats with Anshika’s description of gulab jamun, fried dumplings scented with cardamom and steeped in rose and saffron syrup, leaving the audience eagerly awaiting lunch.
A big thank you to Anshika and Ameya for such an informative assembly that really helped to capture the spirit of Diwali.
