News Year 8 Food Project with Mighty Slice 27.09.2024

In their Food and Nutrition lessons, Year 8 have been designing and developing high-protein dessert for school canteens as part of our G&L Futures Live Projects programme.

Emily Tout, alumna of LSE Generate and founder of high-protein cheesecake business the Mighty Slice, visited the school to gave the design brief to our Year 8s. Emily began by speaking about the origins of Mighty Slice, and asked students to consider the USP of her products. She shared insights on balancing nutrition and flavour, followed by a tasting of Mighty Slice’s delicious cheesecakes, which were a big hit among the students.

The girls enthusiastically brainstormed ideas for new products, focusing on creative flavours, nutritional benefits, and appealing designs. From protein-packed cheesecakes to innovative snack options, their imaginative concepts reflected a strong grasp of both business and food science.
