News Making History at Henley Women’s Regatta 28.06.2024

Huge congratulations to our J16 4+ who made history at Henley Women’s Regatta by becoming the first Godolphin crew to win their category and take home the West End Rowing Association trophy.

We entered five boats in four events over the course of the weekend. First up was Leah, future Captain of Boats, who performed strongly in the Junior Single event but narrowly missed advancing. The Junior 16 quad also showcased potential but did not progress past the Time Trial.

The Junior Women’s Eights qualified for side-by-side racing in the Peabody Cup, ultimately losing to St Edward’s School, Oxford. They now aim to qualify for the Henley Royal Regatta.

In the Junior 16 Coxed Fours event, the A crew advanced through the quarter-finals and semi-finals, defeating Headington School, Oxford, in the final with their fastest time of the weekend to win the West End Amateur Rowing Association Trophy. This victory marks the first time a Godolphin and Latymer crew has won at this event.

Congratulations to the J16 A crew of Olivia, Lara, Hannah, Maia and Olivia on their historic win and to all of the rowers who fought hard in their respective crews. The results throughout the season to date are a testament to consistent training, and display strong foundations for continued development.
