News Years 7-10 Music Scholars’ Concert 14.06.2024

On Wednesday evening, we were delighted to host the Music Scholars’ Concert, which showcased the impressive talent and musical sophistication of our music scholars in Years 7-10. Each performance was precise and well-executed, offering a pleasing variety of pieces.

The evening began with Emily Jong playing Liszt’s Liebesträume, No.3 on the piano. Her performance was engaging and set a high standard for the rest of the concert. Next, Meredith Hau performed La Source by Alphonse Hasselmans on the harp, captivating the audience with her skilful playing. Francesca James followed with Bartok’s Romanian Dances on the violin, delivering a lively and enjoyable performance. Alicia Quélin then played Mozart’s Sonata in D Major, K311, mvt I, holding the audience’s attention with her authentic interpretation. Giselle Thornton performed Dizi’s Prelude No. 21 with impressive rhythm and style, showing maturity beyond her years. Isabel Woolf then took the stage with a stunning rendition of Saint-Saëns’s Introduction & Rondo Capriccioso on the violin. This challenging piece resonated beautifully in the hall, and demonstrated Isabel’s remarkable musical dexterity. The concert concluded with Sofia Symonds playing Chopin’s Ballade No. 3. Her emotional and masterful performance left the audience enthralled.
