News Year 7 Biologists Visit Kew Gardens 06.06.2024

On Tuesday, Year 7 Biology students enjoyed a day exploring the greenhouses and treetop walkways at Kew Gardens. They spent the day learning how plants adapt to different habitats, their reproductive processes, and the many practical uses of plants.

Kew Gardens is currently hosting a sculpture exhibition by the artist Marc Quinn and so the students also had an opportunity to reflect on how the biological world can inspire artworks. The students also created their own biological drawings of plants they found in the rock garden, building on skills they developed earlier in the year. This will be followed up in Biology lessons over the next few weeks as students create their own biological artwork.
