News Germany Study Day at Francis Holland School 23.11.2023

Last weekend A Level German students travelled to Francis Holland School, Regent’s Park, for a study day designed to develop students’ knowledge of German beyond the core curriculum. The day involved talks and workshops from university lecturers at Warwick, Bristol and UCL on the topics of DDR society, literary translation and analysing German film. The film seminar was particularly interesting and useful for their studies, and our students got involved in the group discussion, making astute comments in German as they analysed scenes from the fantastic film Almanya: Wilkommen in Deutschland.

The students took full advantage of the opportunity to meet other students of German and extend their understanding of key topics and skills outside of the classroom, and we look forward to our next study day in January.
