News Sailing Success for Year 10 student Tabitha 20.04.2023
During the Easter break, Year 10 student Tabitha spent four days on the waters of Italy’s Lake Garda at an international sailing regatta ran by Fraglia Vela Riva sailing club.
There were 1,055 competitors from all over the world (matching the world record for the largest sailing regatta ever, set at the same event in 2012) and is often considered the unofficial world championship in sailing. After four days of intense competition in great sailing conditions, Tabitha ended up 45th overall, sixth girl overall and first British sailor. It was truly an amazing result and just rewards for all the hard work she has put into her sailing.
And the sailing success didn’t stop there for Tabitha as next week she will be taking part in the GBR Team Selection Trials which are being held down at the National Sailing Academy in Weymouth. We wish her all the best for the trials.
