News A Level Results 2020 14.08.2020
A message from Dr Frances Ramsey on 14 August 2020:
I would like to congratulate our A Level students who, in these extraordinary times, have achieved very pleasing headline results: over 90% of their grades were awarded A*-B; 69% were awarded A*-A.
They have been a wonderful year-group and, facing unprecedented challenges, they remained positive and focused despite missing out on the opportunity to perform at their very best in the conventional A Level examinations. It is cheering now to see the vast majority of them accepted on to a range of highly competitive courses at their first choice universities.
However, very disappointingly, there are a number of pupils who have been disadvantaged by this year’s grade awarding process and who have not received the results that we submitted in good faith on their behalf and expected them to achieve. We are scrutinising the data carefully, providing support for affected students, and will be robustly challenging these outcomes in any way we can.
The Class of 2020 are energetic, committed and hugely able. They have contributed wholeheartedly to all aspects of school life over the past seven years, as we know they will do in the wider world in the time ahead. I have enormous admiration for them all. We look forward to celebrating their Godolphin years, together, as soon as we are able.
Dr Frances Ramsey
