News ‘La Casa de Bernarda Alba’ at the Cervantes Theatre 27.02.2020

Lower Sixth Spanish students visited the Cervantes Theatre – an intimate venue in London that specialises in Spanish and Latin American theatre – to see Lorca’s masterpiece, ‘La Casa de Bernarda Alba’ on Wednesday evening.

As the play is one of the set texts for both the A Level Literature and Film paper and the IB oral exam, it was a fantastic opportunity for the girls to see a Spanish-language production of it in London to help their preparation for their exams. The girls were gripped by the powerful, emotional performances of all the actors, but pathos of María Josefa and the tyranny of Bernarda were perhaps most palpable.
