News Superb performances all around in ‘Little Shop of Horrors’ 13.02.2020
Held over three nights in the Bishop Centre, the school production of Little Shop of Horrors wowed the audiences of parents, staff, students and Old Dolphins this week. Stand-out performances included incredibly versatile and moving acting and singing from Evie, Year 9, as Audrey; Katie, Lower Sixth, as the hapless Seymour; Issey, Lower Sixth, as a funny and over-bearing Mrs Mushnik who gets her comeuppance in the end!; and Millie, Year 11, as the sadistic dentist, Orin. The voice of the monstrous Audrey II was brilliantly performed by Upper Sixth, Aimee. A very special mention should go to Dr Vicenik and Father Sam McNally Cross who took it in turns to operate the rather heavy puppet known as Pod 3!
The production was dedicated to the memory of Old Dolphin Anna Crossman, who played a leading role in our 2010 production of Little Shop of Horrors, and sadly passed away in 2013 at the age of just twenty. Donations to The Anna Crossman Trust were taken after each performance, and we were delighted to welcome back the Old Dolphin cast of the 2010 production who came to watch the show and to remember Anna. It was a heart-warming and moving event, and the Old Dolphins very much enjoyed seeing the amazing young talent on stage – witnessing a new generation enjoying participating in extra-curricular Drama just as much as they did ten years ago.
Congratulations to the cast and crew, and to the directors Miss Tricker and Miss Reid for an outstanding, high quality production.
